Gaza city: Hamas has declared its readiness to collaborate with the Red Cross to deliver essential supplies to Israeli prisoners held in Gaza. The Al-Qassam Brigades, Hamas’s military wing, announced their willingness to facilitate the delivery of food and medicine, contingent on the cessation of Israeli airstrikes and the continuous provision of aid to Gaza’s residents.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Abu Obeida, the military spokesperson for Al-Qassam Brigades, emphasized that Hamas is prepared to assist with the delivery of aid to hostages, provided that the conditions of a permanent aid supply to Gaza and a halt to Israeli airstrikes are met. This statement comes in the wake of renewed Israeli bombing campaigns in the Gaza Strip, which resumed on March 18 following a breakdown in ceasefire negotiations.

The ceasefire, originally established on January 19, was intended to continue following the conclusion of its first phase on March 1. However, disagreements between Israel and Hamas regarding future steps led to the collapse of talks. The failure to extend the ceasefire or transition to a second phase has reignited tensions in the region.
