Doha: Mahmoud Mardawi, a leader in the Hamas movement, confirmed that negotiations in Doha and Cairo have not stopped, stressing the movement’s insistence on guarantees to end the war on the Gaza Strip and its rejection of any partial deals.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Mardawi stated in a press announcement: “Negotiations are continuing in Doha and Cairo, and we will show sufficient flexibility to reach a comprehensive exchange deal that ends the war, guarantees the occupation’s complete withdrawal, and provides relief and reconstruction to the Gaza Strip.” He emphasized Hamas’s demand for real guarantees to end the aggression and clearly stated that any partial agreements would not be accepted.

These developments come in the wake of a warning issued by Israeli Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir, who threatened a large-scale military operation in Gaza if there is no progress in releasing individuals held by Hamas.

In a related context, Qatari Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Mohammed Al-Khulaifi,
described Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s criticisms as “mere noise,” expressing Qatar’s frustration with the slow pace of the Gaza negotiations.
