Gaza City: Hamas Spokesman Abdul Latif al-Qanou affirmed today that the movement has shown significant flexibility in ongoing negotiations with Israel facilitated by mediators. In a press statement, al-Qanou noted Hamas's approval of the proposed release of a prisoner named Alexander as a sign of its engagement in efforts to end the war and achieve peace.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, al-Qanou explained that the Hamas negotiating team returned to Cairo to continue discussions with Egyptian officials regarding the proposal. He highlighted that Hamas's acceptance is intended to facilitate the next phase of negotiations, which aims for a full withdrawal from Gaza and the end of the conflict.

Al-Qanou emphasized that Hamas's positive response to the mediators' proposals aligns with its commitment to a ceasefire agreement. He stated that Hamas seeks to strengthen the agreement and ensure Israel adheres to its terms with the mediators' guarantee. He accused Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of using procrastination for domestic political gains and pointed out Israel's violations of the agreement by suspending humanitarian protocols and continuing the Gaza blockade.

Al-Qanou reiterated Hamas's willingness to support proposals from mediators and urged Israel to fulfill its responsibilities and adhere to the agreement to prevent further escalation in the region.
