New york: The Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) welcomed the joint statement issued by the presidency of the international conference in New York, which called for obligating the occupation to a permanent ceasefire in Gaza, ensuring the flow of humanitarian aid, and halting settlement activity, annexation plans, and land confiscation.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Movement affirmed its appreciation for all international positions calling for justice for the Palestinian people, ending the occupation, and establishing an independent, fully sovereign Palestinian state with Al-Quds as its capital, ensuring their legitimate national rights.

The Movement added that leaving the extremist occupation government without accountability, despite the ongoing crimes of genocide and starvation for 23 months, represents a ‘stain of shame’ on the forehead of all those who support the occupation or fail to stop it and hold its leaders accountable.

The Movement reiterated its affirmation that the resistance forces constitute a national movement for liberation and return, and that the weapon of resistance is a national right guaranteed by international laws and regulations, until the end of the occupation and the establishment of the Palestinian state.
