Baghdad: The Head of the Counter-Terrorism Service (CTS), Lieutenant General Zaid Hoshi Al-Mousawi, and the Head of the European Union Advisory Mission in Iraq (EUAM Iraq), Ralf Schroeder, emphasized the importance of supporting Iraq’s counter-terrorism efforts and discussed operational steps for the period following September 30, 2026.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, a statement by the Service noted that “CTS Head Lieutenant General Zaid Hoshi Al-Mousawi received the Head of the EU Advisory Mission in Iraq, Ralf Schroeder, at the Service’s headquarters. They discussed ways to enhance cooperation and joint coordination-particularly in the areas of training, capacity building, and the exchange of expertise-to support shared objectives in confronting terrorist challenges and threats.”

The statement further mentioned that both sides affirmed “the importance of continuing cooperation to enhance security and stability, and to support Iraq’s counter-terrorism efforts and operational steps beyond September 30, 2026.”
