Beirut: The Chairman of the Iraqi Media and Communications Commission, Nawfal Abu Ragheef, met with Sheikh Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Hamed, Chairman of the National Media Office of the United Arab Emirates, during the 21st Arab Media Forum in Beirut, Lebanon. The meeting focused on strengthening bilateral cooperation in media and government communication, specifically in regulating the digital domain and developing media legislation to align with current transformations.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the discussions aimed at enhancing cooperation between Iraq and the UAE in digital media and comprehensive development discourse. Both leaders explored the potential for a joint Arab charter for media ethics and digitization, especially in the context of artificial intelligence. Abu Ragheef highlighted Iraq’s readiness to share its regulatory and technical expertise to aid the Arab media sphere and expressed interest in learning from the UAE’s advanced experience in the field.

Sheikh Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Hamed praised Iraq’s media role and international influence, expressing eagerness to fortify collaborative frameworks on key mutual interests. These include development media, professional training, and institutional media development, marking a commitment from both nations to advance their media landscapes collaboratively.
