Hezbollah Targets Syrian Army Positions in Qusayr Area

Beirut: Syrian Defense Ministry has reported that Hezbollah targeted Syrian army positions in the Qusayr area. The incident, which took place west of Homs, involved artillery shells being fired from Lebanese territory towards the Syrian Arab Army positions.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the National News Agency in Lebanon reported that eight Syrian refugees were injured and taken to the hospital following a drone explosion on a farm in the town of Hawsh al-Sayyed Ali, located on the border with Syria. In response to the gunfire, the Lebanese army dispatched reinforcements to the area promptly.

A source in the Ministry of Defense, speaking to the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA), confirmed that the Lebanese Hezbollah party was responsible for firing several artillery shells. The Syrian forces reportedly responded by targeting the sources of fire after identifying the launch sites of the five rockets.

The source further stated that communication is ongoing with the Lebanese army to assess the incident. The Syrian forces have ceased targeting inside Lebanese territory at the Lebanese army's request, as they have pledged to comb the area and pursue the armed groups responsible for the attack on Syrian territory.
