Damascus: The High Committee tasked with implementing the provisions of the joint security agreement between the Republic of Iraq and the Islamic Republic of Iran held its meeting today in Erbil.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the National Security Advisory stated in a press release that Advisor Qasim al-Aboudi led the high-level security delegation at the meeting, while the Minister of Interior of the Kurdistan Region, Rebar Ahmed, headed the regional delegation.

The committee’s discussions focused on the joint security agreement between Iraq and Iran, with particular attention to border security, preventing infiltration and smuggling, and maintaining security and stability throughout Iraq. They also reviewed the implementation of the agreement’s provisions and highlighted the importance of maintaining ongoing communication and joint coordination between the federal government and the Kurdistan Regional Government.

The discussions emphasized adherence to the directives of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, ensuring that the security agreement aligns with the interests and sovereignty of Iraq. National Security Advisor Qasim al-Aboudi arrived in Erbil this morning at the head of a high-level security delegation to oversee the discussions on the agreement’s provisions.
