Aden: The Yemeni Ansar Allah movement, commonly known as the Houthis, has announced that they successfully targeted the Saudi oil tanker "Daisy" in the Gulf of Aden. The attack, carried out with a ballistic missile, reportedly resulted in significant damage to the vessel.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, Houthi military spokesperson Brigadier General Yahya Saree stated that the Yemeni armed forces executed the strike with precision, forcing the tanker to retreat. Saree emphasized that this operation was part of a strategic effort to impose a maritime blockade on Saudi Arabia, invoking the principle of "blockade for blockade."
The announcement follows closely on the heels of another Houthi operation earlier in the day, where they targeted the Saudi oil tanker "Wafa" in the Red Sea. The Houthis claimed that this earlier attack also achieved its intended target with accuracy, further escalating tensions in the region.
