Humam Hammoudi Highlights Importance of Recent Iraqi Elections as a National Milestone

Baghdad: The head of the Islamic Supreme Council, Sheikh Humam Hammoudi, affirmed on Saturday that the recent electoral process marked a pivotal national milestone, reflecting the free will of the Iraqi people and their awareness of the importance of elections as a means for change, correcting the course, and building a better future.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, a statement issued by Hammoudi's media office revealed that he received the Iranian ambassador to Baghdad, Mohammad Kazem Al-Sadeq. The ambassador conveyed his country's congratulations to the Iraqi people on the success of the elections, praising the safe atmosphere, high level of organization, and broad voter participation.

Hammoudi emphasized that the success of the elections will contribute to strengthening bilateral relations between Iraq and Iran, opening wider prospects for joint cooperation in the interest of both neighboring peoples.

The Iranian ambassador also noted that the successful electoral process represents an important step toward enhancing political stability and consolidating the democratic path in Iraq. He highlighted that the environment in which the elections were held reflects the Iraqi state's ability to manage its constitutional obligations with efficiency and responsibility.
