Karbala: Educational cadres in Diwaniyah and Karbala began a strike in front of the Education Directorate building in the two governorates, demanding that the central government increase their salaries and allocate residential land for them. Meanwhile, most schools witnessed the suspension of official work due to the absence of teaching staff.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the teachers have taken this step as a measure to pressurize the government into addressing their demands. The absence of teaching staff has led to a significant disruption in the educational activities across the regions, impacting the regular functioning of schools.
The demonstrators are urging the authorities to take immediate action to resolve their issues, emphasizing the necessity of improving their living conditions. The strike highlights the growing discontent among teachers regarding their current economic status and the need for better housing provisions.
