Basra: The Iraqi Drilling Company has announced the commencement of drilling operations by the IDC-56 rig as part of an extensive 35-well project in the Zubair field. This initiative is carried out under a contract with the Italian company ENI and in collaboration with Schlumberger Oilfield Services.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Director General of the Iraqi Drilling Company, Hassan Mohammed Hassan, stated that the IDC-56 is the second rig deployed for this project, following the earlier deployment of the IDC-51 rig. Hassan highlighted the company’s commitment to executing strategic projects in alignment with the Ministry of Oil’s objectives to enhance production and develop the infrastructure of Iraq’s national oil fields.
