IHEC Forms Supreme Security Committee for Elections


Baghdad: The Independent High Electoral Commission has announced the formation of the Supreme Security Committee for the Elections. This newly formed committee will be led by Lieutenant General Qais Al-Muhammadawi, the Deputy Commander of Joint Operations, and will include several commission members.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, the spokesperson for the Independent High Electoral Commission, Jumana Al-Ghalay, stated in an audio message that the Supreme Security Committee for the Elections was formed by Diwani order. The committee will be headed by the Deputy Commander of Joint Operations, with Judge Abbas Al-Fatlawi, a member of the Board of Commissioners, Muhannad Fadhel, the Assistant Head of the Electoral Administration for Technical Affairs, and Raad Hamad, the Commission’s Security Coordination Officer, also serving as key members.
