Baghdad: The Independent High Electoral Commission (IHEC) announced on Saturday the number of complaints it received regarding the procedures for the 2025 Iraqi parliamentary elections. In an official statement, the IHEC said, "The number of complaints received on Election Day, both general and special, reached 102, including 59 complaints related to general voting and 43 related to special voting."

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the statement added, "The IHEC's Complaints and Appeals Department has begun classifying these complaints, with the majority being classified as 'yellow' complaints and a few as 'green' complaints."

Under the IHEC law, yellow complaints are those that lack formal or substantive requirements and are therefore rejected outright. Green complaints, on the other hand, allege violations committed by IHEC employees, or allege electioneering on Election Day, or violations of instructions by security personnel tasked with protecting polling centers, without affecting the election results. These complaints warrant investigation.
