IHEC Reveals The Procedures, Time, Places And Persons Covered By Special Voting/ More

Baghdad The Independent High Electoral Commission (IHEC) revealed the special voting procedures, time, places and those included in it.

Commission spokeswoman Jumana al-Ghalay told the National Iraqi News Agency (NINA): “The special voting for the security services, the displaced and prison inmates will take place on October 8, through the biometric card exclusively, and 2584 special stations for the armed forces will be opened at the headquarters of the military and security units in all regions of the country, and 309 stations for the displaced, and 7 stations for prison inmates in five governorates, Dohuk, Wasit, Muthanna, Maysan and Sulaymaniyah.”

She explained, “Only those who are included in the vote among the prison inmates are those who have served sentences of less than 5 years.”

She pointed out: “The private ballot paper is different from the general voting paper, and its electronic card is different from the ordinary citizen’s card, because there is a special code for it, and it includes all stations, and in each polling station there is a guide to search for his governorate and vote within his constituency according to its known geographical location.” “pointing out that after the voter has finished voting in the special vote, his electoral card is closed and he is not allowed to vote again.
