Baghdad - Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani received, this Wednesday evening, a phone call from Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, during which bilateral relations between the two countries were discussed, and the developments of the current events in the Gaza Strip and the deteriorating humanitarian conditions there were discussed.
During the phone call, Al-Sudani affirmed, according to a statement from his media office, Iraq’s firm and clear position on the Palestinian issue and the struggle of the Palestinian people for their right to live in dignity on their land, as well as condemning the continued aggression against Gaza and its civilians and the permissibility of the blood of children and women, tightening the siege on them and depriving them of their most basic rights to food and medicine.
According to the statement, the Prime Minister called for the need for major and influential countries to take action to protect international law that the occupation authorities violated and did not abide by international legitimacy.
For his part, the Canadian Prime Minister stressed his country's keenness to work to establish a humanitarian truce in Gaza, through which humanitarian aid can be delivered to civilians, expressing Canada's aspiration to work with Iraq, to achieve calm and find quick exits to the crisis.
