Baghdad: The Federal Integrity Commission announced Iraq’s accession to the “Beijing Clean Silk Road Initiative,” making it the eighteenth country to join this international framework. This step aligns with the implementation of Article 3/6 of the Memorandum of Understanding signed with the National Supervisory Commission of the People’s Republic of China.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Commission highlighted that the initiative will aid in strengthening Iraq’s international relations. It will also underscore Iraq’s continuous efforts in combating corruption through the establishment of a robust network for judicial cooperation and law enforcement. Additionally, the initiative aims to deter the provision of safe havens for suspects and the protection of illicit assets.
