Mosul: The Federal Integrity Commission has announced the arrest of two employees from a municipal department in Nineveh Governorate on charges of stealing 60 receipt books to illegally collect funds.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the operation was carried out by the Nineveh Investigation Directorate team, which revealed that the employees were apprehended at the Mosul Municipality Directorate. The first suspect allegedly stole 60 blank receipt books from the municipality’s revenue department and passed them to a second suspect in exchange for money, aiming for personal financial gain.
The Commission further reported that seals, receipts, and sums of money were confiscated from the accused. A formal seizure report was compiled and submitted, along with the accused, to the judge of the Nineveh Investigation Court specializing in integrity cases. The court has ordered their detention in accordance with Article (444/11) of the Penal Code.
