Nineveh: The Integrity Commission has announced the arrest of six employees in Nineveh Governorate involved in embezzlement and other violations. The employees, who work in the Ministries of Oil and Finance, were apprehended on charges of embezzlement and dereliction of duty.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Federal Integrity Commission’s field team from the Nineveh Investigation Directorate conducted two separate operations at a government-run fuel station in Mosul. During these operations, four employees were arrested after an audit revealed stolen gasoline and discrepancies between the recorded and actual gasoline quantities at the station. Furthermore, the team found proceeds from gasoline and kerosene sales in the personal vehicle of the station’s cashier. These proceeds had not been deposited into the station’s safe or handed over as state revenue.
In a third operation, the team visited the provincial pension directorate and arrested an employee and an associate. They were found in possession of original documents being processed without the presence of concerned parties or legal authorization. The Nineveh Court of Integrity’s investigating judge ordered the detention of the accused under Articles 315-331 of the Penal Code.
