Diyala: The Integrity Commission has uncovered a significant theft involving electrical materials valued at two billion dinars from the General Electricity Distribution Company in Diyala Governorate.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the commission revealed that a team from the Diyala Investigation Office discovered the theft after auditing warehouse transfer documents from 2022 to 2025. The audit, which involved matching the documents with the warehouse system computer, revealed that materials listed in two documents had not been officially entered into the company’s warehouses despite being received by the authorized individual.

The investigation led to the arrest of four employees implicated in the theft, highlighting a significant breach in the company’s inventory management. The audit was conducted in the presence of representatives from the company in the governorate, ensuring transparency in the proceedings.

The Integrity Commission has prepared a formal seizure report detailing the findings of the investigation. This report, along with the accused individuals and evidence collected, has been submitted to the investigating judge in Baquba for further legal action.
