Baghdad: The Federal Integrity Commission announced the issuance of two in-absentia judgments against a former assistant in the Kirkuk Real Estate Registration Directorate for deliberately causing damage to state funds and exploiting her authority for personal gain.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Commission detailed the two cases it investigated and referred to the judiciary, revealing that the competent court issued two in-absentia judgments. The convicted woman was sentenced to imprisonment for conspiring with another defendant, whose case was separated, to manipulate and promote a property sale transaction in the names of two citizens using a forged ownership document purportedly from the Kirkuk Municipality Directorate. She was also held accountable for the loss of a property file registered under the Kirkuk Municipality Directorate, resulting in damage to state funds.

The Commission further explained that the court, after thorough examination of the evidence and proofs, was fully convinced of the defendant’s guilt, leading to the issuance of two rulings according to Article (340) of the Penal Code. This was in conjunction with Articles (47, 48, and 49) concerning complicity, and Article (264/1) of the same law.

Previously, on July 10th, the Commission announced the issuance of a judgment in absentia, sentencing the defendant to severe imprisonment for causing damage to state funds. This damage was evident in her facilitation of the sale of property originally belonging to the Kirkuk Municipality Directorate and falsifying its registration number, exploiting the official powers granted to her.
