Intelligence Conducts Successful Drug Dealer Arrests in Baghdad and Basra

Baghdad: The General Directorate of Intelligence and Security announced the arrest of a number of drug dealers in Baghdad and Basra.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, detachments from the Baghdad Intelligence and Security Directorate successfully apprehended several drug dealers and promoters across various areas of the capital. These arrests were executed under the legal framework of Article 28 of the Narcotics Law. During the operation, narcotics and drug paraphernalia were seized as the individuals were caught in the act. The seized materials have been confiscated, and the accused individuals have been referred to the relevant authorities for further legal proceedings.

In Basra, detachments from the Basra Intelligence and Security Directorate, working in a joint operation, managed to arrest individuals wanted under Article 28 of the Narcotics Law. The operation was successful in apprehending all targeted individuals, in line with arrest warrants issued by the investigating judge. The joint effort underscores the ongoing commitment of the Intelligence and Security Directorates to combat drug-related activities in the region.
