Karbala: The Federal Intelligence and Investigation Agency announced today, Monday, the seizure of an artifact dating back to the Islamic historical eras, prepared for smuggling, in Karbala Governorate.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Agency stated in a statement that its detachments specialized in combating organized crime in Karbala Governorate seized an artifact dating back to the Islamic historical eras, and arrested its holder red-handed when he was trying to sell it for the purpose of smuggling it out of the country.

It added that “upon investigation, he explicitly confessed to his intention to sell the artifact for the purpose of smuggling it.”
