Baghdad: Interior Minister Abdul Amir Al-Shammari discussed with the Spanish Ambassador to Iraq, Alicia Rico Perez del Pulgar, ways to enhance joint cooperation in the security and police fields.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, a statement from the Ministry of Interior highlighted that Al-Shammari met with the Spanish Ambassador to deliberate on enhancing joint cooperation in the security and police fields and the exchange of expertise. The discussions also covered personnel training, police capacity development, and strategies to combat organized crime and terrorism.

The Interior Minister emphasized the ministry's commitment to developing bilateral relations and welcoming international experiences to benefit both nations. In response, the Spanish Ambassador expressed her high appreciation for the Ministry of Interior's efforts in promoting security and stability in Iraq. She also highlighted Spain's dedication to maintaining ongoing communication and strengthening bilateral cooperation.
