Baghdad: The General Directorate of Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances Affairs, affiliated with the Ministry of Interior, announced today the arrest of four internationally wanted individuals found in possession of 200,000 Captagon pills. This successful operation was conducted in cooperation with Syrian authorities.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Directorate's Spokesperson, Brigadier General Ziyad al-Qaisi, stated in a press release that the operation followed directives from Interior Minister Abdul Amir al-Shammari and was supervised by the Director General of the General Directorate of Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances Affairs. The operation was a result of ongoing cooperation and the exchange of precise security and intelligence information between Iraq and Syria.

Al-Qaisi confirmed that the coordinated efforts led to the successful apprehension of the international drug traffickers and the significant seizure of Captagon pills. The confiscated drugs and the detainees have been referred to the judiciary for legal proceedings.
