Baghdad: The Ministry of Interior announced today the killing of the main suspect involved in the assassination of a lieutenant colonel in the Federal Police in the Nahrawan area of Baghdad. The incident has underscored the ongoing security challenges faced by law enforcement agencies in maintaining stability and order.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Ministry emphasized its commitment to ensuring justice against those threatening national security. The statement highlighted the swift response following the death of Lieutenant Colonel Ahmed Younis Obaid, who was killed during an operation to execute an arrest warrant. This operation took place in the Nahrawan area, a region that has witnessed heightened tensions.
The Ministry’s statement detailed the events leading to the suspect’s death, explaining that Federal Police forces managed to locate and encircle the suspect in a house in Nahrawan. When the suspect attempted to engage the police, they responded, resulting in his immediate death. The M
