NINEVEH: The international scientific conference on “Development and Financial and Economic Stability to Restore Confidence in the Dinar” commenced at the University of Mosul. The event attracted various local government officials, including Nineveh Governor Abdul Qader Al-Dakhil, who highlighted significant regional development projects aimed at revitalizing the local economy and infrastructure.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Governor Al-Dakhil emphasized the resilience and recovery of Nineveh, particularly through its educational institutions and scientific capital. He detailed several strategic initiatives, including the construction of the Mosul Airport and other critical infrastructures such as the Ibn Sina Hospital, which is expected to have 600 beds. “For the first time, as a local government, we have adopted major strategic projects,” Al-Dakhil stated, underscoring the commitment to enhancing the province’s health sector and overall developmental framework.

During his speech, Al-Dakhil als
o outlined future plans for Nineveh, which include the development of a mini sports city on the right side of Mosul and a new area known as the city of waterfalls. He pointed to promising investment opportunities in the regions south of Mosul, particularly in the oil, energy, and sulfur sectors. “The development road, which will pass through the city of Mosul and the ring road, is considered a vital economic artery that revives the city,” he added.

Governor Al-Dakhil reassured the citizens of Nineveh of the local government’s commitment to “creating life anew in a manner befitting its Iraqi identity, future, and cultural heritage.”
