Baghdad: Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Ali Faleh Al-Zaidi, has ordered the formation of an investigative committee to look into an incident involving the United States flag during a parade held for “Sovereignty Day.”

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the spokesperson for the Commander-in-Chief, Sabah Al-Nu’man, reported that the Commander-in-Chief condemned the incident and stressed the importance of adhering to laws and diplomatic norms.

He further stated that the Commander-in-Chief instructed that legal measures be implemented against those responsible for the violation and urged for the investigation to be completed promptly, with findings submitted as soon as possible.
