Tehran: Secretary of the Supreme Council for Economic Coordination of Iranian Powers, Mohsen Rezaei, has criticized former U.S. President Donald Trump’s statements regarding an agreement with Iran to dismantle its nuclear facilities, labeling them as “illusion,” “deception,” and “confusion.”

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Rezaei denounced Trump’s assertions, stating, “What Trump is saying about an agreement with Iran to dismantle nuclear facilities is a combination of illusion, deception, and confusion.” He further remarked on Trump’s association with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, suggesting that as long as Trump and his team align with Netanyahu, they will remain under the illusion of dismantling Iran’s nuclear capabilities.

Rezaei emphasized Iran’s resilience by stating, “Trump must know that he is facing a great country and nation and a well-established regime in Iran, which will force the United States to accept the facts and avoid illusions.” This statement underscores Iran’s stance on maintaining its nuclear program amidst U.S. pressures.

The Iranian Foreign Ministry has previously noted that negotiations with the United States have made beneficial progress. These discussions are taking place indirectly through mediators, with the aim of addressing technical issues and establishing guarantees necessary for a return to the 2015 nuclear agreement. Tehran remains committed to finding a diplomatic resolution to the ongoing nuclear discussions.
