Hanoi:A senior Iranian security official has declared that Iran is fully prepared to respond decisively to any potential US military action. The official cited the influence of what he referred to as the “Zionist entity” over the US government and emphasized that Iran remains ready for a strong retaliation, regardless of any mixed messages from the US.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, The official explained that Iran’s military strategy is based on the need for readiness in case of a prolonged conflict, with plans for both defensive and offensive operations. He also mentioned that Iran is prepared to unveil new military capabilities and stated there would be no restraint in their response, including an expanded battlefield scope if necessary.

This statement comes amid recent comments from former President Trump, who indicated on his “Truth Social” platform that the US would not attack Iran before the congressional elections. Trump noted ongoing diplomatic efforts with Tehran but confirmed the continuation of a naval and economic blockade on Iranian ports.

The New York Times reported that the Pentagon, following Trump’s directives, has developed a plan for a brief but intensive military campaign targeting Iran’s military assets and infrastructure. Despite this, Trump has expressed hesitance to initiate a full-scale war, while military leaders remain concerned about the potential depletion of US missile defenses due to enhanced Iranian strike capabilities.
