Muscat: The Iranian Foreign Ministry confirmed that the exchange of messages between Tehran and Washington does not signify the launch of formal negotiations between the two sides.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, ministry spokesman Ismail Baghaei denied reports circulating about the delivery of an official US message via Oman during the visit of Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs, Mojtaba Ravanchi, to Muscat. Baghaei asserted, “This information is inaccurate.”
Baghaei further clarified, “There was no official message in this regard. Of course, as is customary, various mediators are still working to bridge the gaps and exchange messages, but this does not in any way mean the start of negotiations between Iran and the United States.”
