Tehran: The Iranian Civil Aviation Authority announced on Saturday a temporary ban on flights entering Iranian airspace after passing through Baghdad’s airspace, effective until August 17, 2025, according to an official aviation notice.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the decision exempts flights that are scheduled to land at Iranian airports, while it applies to all transit flights crossing Iraqi airspace toward Iran without intending to land there.

The Iranian authorities have not yet disclosed the reasons behind this move.
