Tehran: Iran has pointed to the United States as the main obstacle to peace in the region following the approval of a significant military sale to Saudi Arabia. This development has sparked concerns about escalating tensions and the potential for increased militarization in the Middle East.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the US State Department has approved a proposed sale of military equipment to Saudi Arabia. The package includes F-35 Lightning II fighter jets and related equipment, with an estimated cost of $24.3 billion. The State Department emphasized in an official statement that this sale “will not have any adverse impact on the defense readiness of the United States.”

The announcement of such a substantial arms deal has raised eyebrows in Tehran, where officials view the sale as a move that could disrupt regional stability.
