Iran Refutes Claims of US Attack on Bushehr Nuclear Plant

Bushehr: Authorities in Iran's Bushehr province denied reports circulating on social media about a US attack on the Bushehr nuclear power plant, asserting that the site is completely safe and that there is no leakage of radioactive materials or radiation.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, false news circulated Sunday evening claiming that the waste site at the Bushehr nuclear power plant had been targeted, accompanied by allegations of radioactive material spreading in the surrounding air.

In this context, Ehsan Jahanian, the deputy governor of Bushehr for political and security affairs, told a Fars correspondent that these rumors were completely unfounded.

Jahanian stated, "The reports concerning the spread of radioactive materials or any radiation leak at the plant's waste site are entirely baseless," emphasizing that the plant and its associated waste sites are operating normally and safely.

The Bushehr nuclear power plant, located on the Persian Gulf coast, is Iran's first and largest nuclear power plant, and was completed and is now operational with Russian technical assistance.
