Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Nasser Kanani said in a press conference: “Iraq’s issues are important because it is a neighboring country and we are closely following its political developments.”
He added: “Iran avoids interfering in Iraqi affairs, and we call for a comprehensive government in this country and we stand by the Iraqi people.”
He continued, “We hope that the Iranian-Iraqi relations will become stronger than before, and we call on the Iraqi political forces to adhere to the country’s general constitution.”
