Iranian Diplomat Abbas Araghchi Champions Peace in Influential Baghdad Talks


Baghdad: In a series of high-stakes discussions, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi met with top Iraqi officials in Baghdad, focusing on the pressing security challenges in the Middle East. The talks, described by the Iranian Foreign Ministry as “very influential,” aimed to foster regional stability and security amid ongoing tensions.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Iranian Foreign Ministry highlighted the significance of these discussions. Ministry Spokesman Esmail Baqaei, expressing the outcomes on the /X/ social platform, stated, “Foreign Minister Araghchi held very influential talks with senior Iraqi officials on the sensitive security situation in the region.” Baqaei emphasized the mutual commitment between Tehran and Baghdad to collaborate closely, not only bilaterally but also with other nations and relevant entities to safeguard regional peace and stability.

The discussions underscored a shared concern over the escalating actions of the Israeli military, which both parties agree co
uld potentially escalate into broader regional conflict. “The continuation of the aggression and crimes of the Israeli army will lead the region to a dangerous conflict, so it must be stopped,” Baqaei remarked, signaling a stern stance on the need for cessation of hostilities.
