Baghdad: Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi affirmed on Monday, after meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, that Russia’s positions so far are very good and strong, and that it is working to move the Security Council forward. Araqchi said in press statements, “I had a very good meeting with the Russian President, and during this meeting we discussed the current events in detail.” He added, “Regarding the nuclear agreement and our negotiations with the P5+1 group, Russia has also been an active party; it has always been on our side.”
According to National Iraqi News Agency, Araqchi emphasized the importance of cooperation and consultation with Russia, particularly in light of the current geopolitical circumstances. He noted that the discussions with Russian leaders were essential to understanding and addressing the consequences of recent aggressive actions impacting the region, the international community, and the non-proliferation regime.
