Iranian Foreign Ministry Announces Omani FM’s Role in Mediating Indirect Talks Between Tehran and Washington


Muscat: The Iranian Foreign Ministry announced on Saturday that Omani Foreign Minister Badr bin Hamad bin Hamoud Al Busaidi will convey Tehran’s and Washington’s positions during the indirect talks. The discussions are centered around Iran’s nuclear program and the lifting of sanctions.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, the talks are set to take place in two separate halls, with the exchange of positions facilitated by the Omani Foreign Minister. The ministry emphasized that these negotiations mark the beginning of a potentially short series of discussions.



The Iranian government spokeswoman highlighted that the framework for the talks was chosen by Iran, demonstrating rationality and diplomacy. She noted that the negotiations are intended to be precise and conducted without unnecessary interruptions.



Earlier today, the Iranian Foreign Ministry confirmed the commencement of indirect talks between Iran and the United States in Muscat, underscoring the significance of this diplomatic initiative.
