Iranian Foreign Ministry Reveals Results of Araqchi’s Talks with European Counterparts

New york: Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi, who is visiting New York to participate in the UN General Assembly meetings, met on Tuesday with the Foreign Ministers of Britain, Germany, and France.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, an official statement by the Iranian Foreign Ministry stated that Araqchi held a joint meeting with the European Union’s High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaya Kallas. During the meeting, they reviewed the talks held over the past month to find diplomatic solutions to the Iranian nuclear issue and prevent the escalation of tension.

The statement explained that the Iranian Foreign Minister outlined Tehran’s principled positions and practical steps taken over the past few months to remove any suspicions or pretexts regarding its nuclear program. He described the attacks on Iran and the damage to its nuclear facilities as a significant point in the history of the non-proliferation regime.

Araqchi highlighted the recent measures taken by Iran, including an understanding with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) to fulfill Iran’s safeguards obligations. He stressed the necessity for European parties to take reciprocal and responsible actions in response.

According to the statement, ideas and proposals were put forward to continue diplomatic efforts, considering the “unjustified and illegal” move of reimposing sanctions that had been lifted by the Security Council. It was agreed to maintain consultations with all relevant parties.
