Tehran: The Iranian “Breaking News” Agency has reported that a senior Pakistani official might soon travel to Tehran to deliver a message or a new package of proposals from Washington to Iranian authorities.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the proposal is connected to recent positions taken by US President Donald Trump and reflects what is described as a US desire to reach an agreement before the US midterm elections. The proposal is expected to be designed for a limited timeframe of 40 to 50 days, with Washington seeking a rapid and comprehensive agreement.

The report indicates that the US proposal, unlike previous discussions in Islamabad, might address the Strait of Hormuz issue alongside the Iranian nuclear file from the start. The aim is to achieve a rapid, multi-faceted agreement that extends beyond security dimensions and holds political and electoral implications for Trump ahead of the elections. However, the Agency suggests that the Iranian response is likely to be negative.

In a related development, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi engaged in a phone call with Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Ishaq Dar. During the conversation, both sides discussed issues of mutual interest, the latest regional developments, and exchanged views on these matters. The Iranian Foreign Ministry did not disclose further details on the specific topics addressed during the call.
