Manama: Iranian armed forces launched a cruise missile attack on several US warships off the coast of Bahrain, according to Iranian state television. The television station quoted an army spokesman as saying, “Iranian forces targeted US ships stationed off the coast of Bahrain with cruise missiles.” There is no information yet on the potential damage to the US warships, including a destroyer.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, earlier today, Iranian television reported that Iranian forces targeted fuel tanks at a US military base in Bahrain. In response, the US Central Command (CENTCOM) announced this morning that it had completed another round of offensive airstrikes deep inside Iran. The strikes, which targeted southern regions, resulted in at least 14 deaths and 78 injuries, according to the Iranian Ministry of Health. Tehran condemned the attacks as a “war crime” and subsequently suspended the Tehran-Mashhad railway line.

The attack triggered an immediate Iranian response, with the Revolutionary Guard announcing it had targeted US military bases in Kuwait and Bahrain, while Manama and Kuwait confirmed intercepting projectiles in their airspace.
