Tehran: The Iranian Ministry of Security announced on Saturday the arrest of a group of individuals affiliated with the "Monarchist Movement" who were working for the Israeli intelligence agency, Mossad.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, "This network was receiving directives from Europe and was planning to carry out terrorist operations in several Iranian cities during the Sacred Defense days." According to the official statement, "The individuals attempted to destabilize public security by smuggling weapons illegally across the country's western borders and inciting chaos in sensitive areas."

According to the investigation, "This group was scheduled to take to the streets and carry out acts of violence in the event of a conflict or foreign attack."

The individuals planned to attack police stations, Basij (mobilization) bases, and security centers during critical periods, with the aim of removing what they described as "the security barrier" and paving the way for destabilizing security in the capital.

The Ministry of Security announced the "seizure of weapons and equipment that the group intended to use before it could carry out any terrorist act. Among the seized materials were photographs of Tehran metro stations and other public places that were planned to be targeted."

The ministry confirmed that "all members of the network have been arrested, and further details will be revealed after the investigations are completed."
