Baghdad: Iran’s Revolutionary Guard announced that two oil tankers exploded and caught fire while navigating a route south of the Strait of Hormuz. The incident was attributed to a minefield the tankers entered, which the Revolutionary Guard claimed was a result of “deception and misinformation” by US intelligence agencies.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Revolutionary Guard did not provide details regarding the nationalities of the tankers or the extent of the damage. Additionally, there was no information released about any potential injuries sustained by the crew members.

The Revolutionary Guard also reported stopping four vessels attempting to cross the Strait of Hormuz. However, details concerning the identities of these vessels or the reasons for their detention were not disclosed, as reported by Iranian television.
