New York:Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein and Bulgarian Foreign Minister Velislava Petrova have signed a memorandum of understanding aimed at enhancing cooperation and coordination in political consultations.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the signing took place during their participation in the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly.

The meeting between the ministers focused on strengthening bilateral relations and exploring ways to enhance joint collaboration across various fields. Iraq’s Foreign Minister announced plans to appoint an ambassador to Bulgaria, a step intended to bolster diplomatic ties and cooperation.

The discussion also covered regional developments and challenges, emphasizing the need for continued coordination on issues of mutual interest and efforts to promote regional and international security and stability.

The memorandum of understanding establishes an institutional framework for regular dialogue and consultation, aiming to develop political dialogue mechanisms and strengthen cooperation, particularly in economy, trade, investment, and transport.
