Iraq and Finland Explore Joint Efforts to Tackle Climate Challenges

Baghdad: The Minister of Environment Sarwa Abdul Wahid met with the Finnish Ambassador to Iraq, Antti Potkonen, to explore ways to enhance cooperation in addressing climate challenges. The discussions focused on potential joint efforts to tackle pressing environmental issues facing Iraq.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the meeting highlighted the significant climate challenges Iraq is currently confronting and explored avenues for technical support and expertise exchange. The Finnish experience in developing environmental solutions was cited as a potential model for enhancing Iraq's capacity to adapt to the impacts of climate change.

Minister Abdul Wahid stressed the importance of expanding partnerships with friendly nations and utilizing international expertise to implement environmental programs effectively. She emphasized that combating climate change necessitates strong international cooperation and cohesive efforts to support sustainable resource management and environmental protection.
