Iraq and Jordan agree to hold a meeting with Egypt with the participation of the Gulf states early next year

Baghdad Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs Fuad Hussein agreed with Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi, to hold a meeting within the tripartite coordination mechanism (Iraq, Egypt, Jordan) with the participation of the Gulf states early next year.

A statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that the minister met today, Saturday, with Safadi, in the Emirati capital, Abu Dhabi, on the sidelines of his participation in the work of the thirteenth session of the Sir Bani Yas Forum, which is being held under the organization of the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, and they discussed relations between the two brotherly countries and ways to strengthen them.

According to the statement, Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein presented a summary of the political developments in Iraq, the formation of the new Iraqi government and the features of the next phase, expressing his optimism and Iraq’s aspiration to support neighboring countries and its quest for continued openness and cooperation with its Arab and regional surroundings.

According to the statement, the two sides looked forward to the continuation of the joint cooperation that was agreed upon during the previous Iraqi governments, and agreed to hold a meeting within the tripartite coordination mechanism (Iraq, Egypt, Jordan) and with the participation of the Gulf states early next year.
