New York:Prime Minister Ali Faleh al-Zaidi emphasized the importance of leveraging Kenya’s expertise in agriculture and water resource management while advocating for expanded economic and investment cooperation between Iraq and Kenya.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, al-Zaidi met with Kenyan President William Samui and his delegation in New York on Wednesday during the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly. The meeting focused on strengthening bilateral relations and cooperation in various fields.

The leaders discussed the prospect of establishing a direct air route between Baghdad and Nairobi to facilitate trade, investment, and tourism. They also addressed enhancing Iraq’s interaction with the African Common Market, expanding cooperation with other African nations, and bolstering diplomatic ties, including the potential opening of a Kenyan Embassy in Baghdad.

Al-Zaidi reiterated the significance of utilizing Kenya’s agricultural and water management expertise and enhancing economic and investment collaboration. He also highlighted the value of Kenya’s partnerships with numerous countries and international markets.

President Samui extended an invitation to Prime Minister al-Zaidi to visit Kenya and expressed his country’s willingness to fortify joint efforts to advance bilateral relations for the mutual benefit of both nations and their peoples.
