Baghdad: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Fuad Hussein received the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs for Political Affairs of the Netherlands, Marcel de Vink, and his delegation at the Ministry’s headquarters in Baghdad. The meeting occurred during the political consultations meeting between the two countries, focusing on a host of bilateral, regional, and international topics of common interest.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the discussions emphasized the importance of sustained coordination between Baghdad and The Hague. Minister Fuad Hussein underscored that such collaboration is crucial for advancing bilateral relations and enhancing cooperation across various domains.

On regional matters, Minister Fuad Hussein expressed Iraq’s concerns regarding recent regional developments. He advocated for dialogue and negotiations to manage crises, particularly in response to attacks by the Israeli entity against several countries.

The humanitarian conditions in the Gaza Strip were also discussed, with both sides agreeing on the necessity to alleviate the Palestinian people’s suffering and to support efforts toward establishing an independent Palestinian state.

Marcel De Vink, representing the Netherlands, conveyed his government’s appreciation for the ongoing constructive cooperation with Iraq. He lauded the positive changes in Iraq and expressed hope for the success of the upcoming parliamentary elections, which aim to fulfill the aspirations of the Iraqi populace. De Vink reaffirmed the Netherlands’ commitment to enhancing its partnership with Iraq to benefit the mutual interests of both nations.
