Jeddah:Iraq and Oman played to a 1-1 draw in the opening match of the 27th Gulf Cup at Prince Abdullah Al-Faisal Stadium in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

According to Iraqi News Agency, Iraq took an early lead when Mohammed Qasim scored in the sixth minute. The team maintained this advantage through the end of the first half.

Oman equalized in the second half with a goal from Nasser Al-Ruhani in the 67th minute. Despite both teams’ efforts to secure a win, the match concluded without further goals. Each team earned a point in the initial Group A standings.
