Baghdad: Iraq and the Sultanate of Oman are engaging in discussions to enhance cooperation in the field of investment in the telecommunications sector. Minister of Communications, Hiyam Al-Yasiri, welcomed Omani Minister of Transport, Communications and Information Technology, Saied bin Hamoud Al-Maawali, and his delegation to Baghdad for talks on the matter.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the meeting focused on exploring prospects for joint cooperation, especially in investment in the telecommunications and information technology sectors. The discussion aimed at exchanging technical expertise to keep pace with global developments and strengthen the strategic partnership between Iraq and Oman.
The discussions also covered several issues of mutual interest, such as transit projects, digital transformation, and automation. These initiatives are expected to enhance the efficiency of telecommunications infrastructure and serve the shared interests of both nations.
